Public benefits
The benefit which flows from the first purpose of Koinonia John the Baptist Ireland is that their beneficiaries gain the experience of living in Christian Community and the ability to form friendships. This can be demonstrated through the joy of the Brothers and Sisters and the breaking down of barriers between different people from different walks
of life. This benefit is available for the general public. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. A private benefit arises in the form of some members being invited to attend training courses which benefits them individually, it is intended that this will be of benefit to the whole Community and therefore the private benefit is incidental. The benefit which flows from the second purpose of Koinonia John the Baptist Ireland is that the Good News of the Gospel is spread. This can be demonstrated through lives being transformed and new or deeper relationships with the Lord experienced through Christian Community. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The intended beneficiaries are the general public. Members of the Community may receive training on various issues but this training is to further the purposes of the organisation and as such is incidental.
