We believe that the Company’s purpose meets the public benefit requirement. The benefits which flow from the purpose are: The Irish language is preserved and safeguarded; Irish language, arts and culture are promoted, improving the conditions of everyday life; community relations and tolerance of difference are improved and enhanced, reducing
conflict and tension; young people are provided with facilities and resources to foster good citizenship; individuals’ skills and employability are improved. These benefits are demonstrated through increased use of language, increase in numbers of people attending classes and evaluation and feedback received from the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are adults; young people; children; Irish language speakers; children attending Irish-medium schools; parents with children at Irish-medium schools; and people from all sections of the community in Northern Ireland. We believe that no harm or private benefits will flow from the purposes of the organisation.
