Purpose 1. The Relief of Poverty, specifically poverty and suffering in situations around the world where there has been civil unrest, civil war or hardship due to a natural disaster. The Direct Benefit issues from the aid and support which Global Charities are able to bring into these situations. The Trust is able to make regular donations to
these Charities, and from the feedback reports, the trustees are satisfied that this objective is achieved. Recent donations have been made to Tear Fund, Open Doors and the Middle East Christian Organisation, all of which have been active in making a difference in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world for the benefit of displaced and homeless people. These benefits do not lead to harm and there is no benefit to the EMO TRUST. Purpose 2. The Advancement of Education, specifically Religious Education by donating to ‘Scripture Union’ an organisation working with schools and to a College operating in Northern Ireland, the ‘Belfast Bible College.’ The Direct Benefit from the work of Scripture Union in Schools is in helping with religious instruction in school assemblies and in after school Scripture Union Groups for Biblical Teaching. The Trust has a particular interest in the schools in East Belfast. Feedback from Scripture Union confirms that there has been benefit in many schools in East Belfast including Special Care Schools with benefit to both pupils and staff. The benefits do not lead to harm and there is no benefit to the EMO TRUST. There is Direct Benefit also to the students attending the Belfast Bible College. The student body is international and church leaders, pastors and missionaries are trained for Christian service both in Ireland and throughout the world. Regular reports from the College confirm the benefit students enjoy from their years in training. The benefits do not lead to harm and there is no benefit to the EMO TRUST. Purpose 3. The Advancement of Christianity, specifically within one Community in Northern Ireland. and also with some Overseas Missionary Organisations. The Direct Benefit is within the Dundonald community through the activities of Dundonald Parish Church (St. Elizabeth’s). The Parish is half way through a five year “LINK” project (mid 2012-mid 2017) linking church with the community by door-to-door visits throughout the local community in an endeavour to identify community needs and make provision for them. Mothers and toddlers, the youth and the elderly are all benefitting from new projects and other projects are planned. All of these groups have expressed appreciation of the benefit they have experienced in support and friendship. The benefits do not lead to harm and there is no benefit to the EMO TRUST. The Direct Benefit of donations made to Overseas Missionary Organisations, for example Mission Africa in recent years has been, a. the certified decline of the HIV/Aids epidemic which has resulted from the instruction and education in preventive measures. b. the successful training of senior Nigerian Church leaders and pastors to consolidate the National Church. The benefit is evidenced by the number of well qualified Church leaders. The benefits do not lead to harm and there is not benefit to the EMO TRUST. Purpose 4. Any other purpose of a charitable nature beneficial to the community, these include donations to various health support charities and the vital RNLI services in the saving of life. The Direct Benefit gained by the terminally ill, those who suffer from chest, heart and stroke conditions and other similar supporting charities is immense and these are well documented in the various charity reports. The Direct benefit of the work of the RNLI is also very well documented. These benefits do not lead to harm and are of no benefit to the EMO TRUST.

THE EMO TRUST was set up in 1985 as a small family TRUST FUND to facilitate easy transfer of funds to any number of Charities which benefit the local community and those Charities which bring assistance to those in need globally.
