Public benefits

ASCA provides and runs a community centre for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Waterside area of Londonderry and further afield. It organises and provides activities to enhance the lives of a range of people in a safe environment: *The General Public - by encouraging community relations and involvement through courses related to culture,

heritage and education e.g. First Aid, Hygiene course, Arts, Craft and Sport activities etc. *Children & Young People - by encouraging physical, mental and emotional capabilities through involvement in organised activities for uniformed and non uniformed organisations e.g. Scouts & Guides and other age related youth groups, summer scheme activities, Mother & Toddler Group etc. * Senior Citizens - by providing educational, recreational and leisure activities through classes in leisure activities e.g. crochet, flower arranging, indoor bowls etc., health related courses, advice and welfare sessions. These events are all measurable by the number attending and achievements gained. They enhance the lives of those involved and thus encourages good citizenship and community development. There is no private benefit. There is very little risk of harm involved in any of our activities and this is further minimised by risk assessments.
