End of October annual reporting deadline
Registered charities with a financial year ending 31 December 2025 (excluding newly registered charities) are reminded that the deadline for submitting their annual monitoring return, accounts and reports is 31 October 2025.
With just over 2,200 charities due to file by the end of October, now is a good time to start preparing to avoid last-minute pressure and ensure your charity remains up to date on the register of charities.
A few key reminders:
• Check your accounts and reports meet the required format.
• Avoid including personal information unless it is legally required or consent has been obtained.
• Allow sufficient time for trustee approval and any technical issues.
• Use the Commission’s annual reporting guidance, particularly if this is the first time your charity will be submitting accounts and reports.
The Commission is currently upgrading its online systems, introducing a range of improvements for charities. The upgrade will affect the My charity login, through which charities file their annual returns and update their details. As a result, there may be a short outage of 24-to-48-hours in September. Please keep an eye on the Commission’s website for updates.
Once the new My charity login goes live, the main charity contact will need to set a new password when accessing services after the change. The Commission will send simple, step-by-step instructions from our @charitycommissionini email address at that time. There is no need to reset any passwords yet. For your security, always access our services via our official website. We will never ask for your password in emails or phone calls.
