Charitable purposes

The purpose of the community shed, garden and men’s group is to provide a safe, supportive and meaningful space for people living in Inner South and Inner East Belfast and its surrounding environment. These areas experience multiple forms of deprivation which contribute to poorer physical and mental health. The Group aims to address the high level of health inequalities within the area, reducing barriers to seeking help and benefit from informal, activity-based environments which encourage conversation and connection. Through accessible community activities such as (but not limited to) gardening, environmental improvement, woodworking, practical skills development and shared creative projects, the Group will promote social bonding, build confidence and strengthen well-being. These activities will offer opportunities for peer support, routine and purpose, all of which are recognised contributors to improved mental health and community resilience. The Group currently oversees the routine programmes of the following subgroups: • Community Garden • Community shed and woodworking • Men’s group
