The direct benefits which flow from the Charity's purposes are that individuals and families in poverty and financial crisis for any reason, can receive short term, emergency food supplies and compassionate, confidential listening in a welcoming atmosphere. They are also offered the opportunity for onward referral to other local services which can

What your organisation does
The Charity benefits those in food poverty by providing food relief through one of five outlets in the Antrim community each week. The Charity’s role falls immediately into the prevention or relief of poverty category in the list of charitable purposes. The Charity provides food relief in line with Trussell Trust guidelines to individuals and
families experiencing poverty and who face food hardship. This hardship results from a number of factors including but not limited to unemployment or lack of opportunity,, the impact of mental ill health and the effects of debilitating illnesses over an extended period of time. For some, lack of education or qualifications may lead them into a cycle of poverty which the Charity seeks to mitigate. It is often the case that the Charity’s clients face social exclusion due to their low income and the perceptions others have of them. The Charity seeks to combat this by providing food, support and sign posted guidance. Food relief is available in the form of pre-packed food parcels and provided for those who present with need and are recorded on the Trussell Trust database. The Charity’s role also falls into the category of relief of those in need by supporting refugees and those seeking status in the UK who are in situations whereby they need support and direction to those who can provide more professional help.
