Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from the purposes of Ballinascreen Community Forum are that the inhabitants of Draperstown and surrounding rural areas benefit from a coordinated and collaborative approach to community development. By bringing together local organisations, the Forum enables people of all ages to access a wider range of activities,

services, and opportunities within their own area. Local residents benefit from increased opportunities for social interaction, participation in community events, and access to cultural, environmental, educational, and wellbeing initiatives. Community groups benefit from shared support, resources, and partnership working, which strengthens their capacity to deliver services and respond to local needs. Young people, older people, and those at risk of isolation benefit from inclusive activities that promote connection, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. These benefits are demonstrated through ongoing engagement with member organisations, feedback from participants, and regular review of activities and outcomes. There is no harm arising from the Forum’s activities. The organisation operates on a not-for-profit basis, with all income reinvested into community initiatives. The Forum is volunteer-led, and no private benefit is derived by individuals beyond what is incidental and necessary for the delivery of its purposes. The benefits are demonstrated through regular engagement, monitoring, and feedback from members, participants, and partners. Attendance records and participation levels provide evidence of reach and impact. Feedback from community groups, schools, and statutory partners helps assess outcomes and inform future activities. In addition, reports, case studies, and photographs are used to evidence increased participation, improved wellbeing, and stronger community connections, ensuring clear demonstration of public benefit. There is no harm arising from any of the organisation’s purposes. All activities are designed to benefit the wider community by promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and community development. Appropriate safeguards, policies, and procedures are in place to ensure activities are delivered safely and responsibly. The organisation operates on a not-for-profit basis, with all income reinvested into community initiatives, and no private benefit to individuals beyond what is incidental and necessary. The charity’s beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Draperstown area and surrounding rural communities. This includes people of all ages and backgrounds, particularly children and young people, older people, families, community groups, and individuals who may be at risk of social isolation. Member organisations also benefit through increased support, collaboration, and access to shared resources, enabling them to better serve the wider community. There is no significant private benefit arising from the organisation’s purposes. Any private benefit is incidental and necessary to support the delivery of its activities. This may include the employment of staff or payment for services such as training, facilitation, or project support, where required. These roles and payments are essential to ensure the effective delivery of the organisation’s charitable aims. All income is applied solely to further the organisation’s purposes, and any benefit to individuals is proportionate, incidental, and necessary in achieving public benefit.
