Public benefits
The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include eternal salvation and adoption into the family of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the spread of the gospel, bringing reconciliation between people and God and with one another. This includes a growing understanding of Christian beliefs as taught in the Bible and the fellowship’s
doctrinal statement, leading to spiritual and moral growth, and regular Christian teaching that helps people understand, live out, defend, and share the gospel. It also includes practical care within the local community, such as support for those in need and comfort for the sick, elderly, and bereaved, the development of individual gifts through opportunities for volunteers to serve in practical and spiritual ways, and a positive impact on the community as people live out a Christian faith in everyday life. he benefits arising from this purpose will be shown through the number of people attending weekly activities and events, and those receiving Bible teaching and taking part in corporate worship. They will also be seen in the number of leaders and volunteers serving each week, the positive contribution of members within the wider community, and the pastoral care provided to individuals and families. These outcomes will be reviewed through regular evaluation, annual reports, and feedback from those who attend, their families, and others within the local community. The Trustees do not anticipate that any harm will flow from any of the above purposes. The fellowship’s beneficiaries include members, regular attenders, and anyone from the general public who chooses to come to services and activities. They also include individuals and families who receive pastoral care, the local community where support is offered, and other communities across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and further afield through our involvement with and support of Christian and community organisations. The only private benefits flowing from our purposes relate to modest stipends or expenses provided to visiting speakers or individuals who assist with specific ministry or administrative tasks. These payments are limited, occasional, and directly connected to the work and activities of the fellowship. Any stipends or expenses are incidental and necessary to support the teaching, pastoral care, and practical administration required to fulfil the stated purpose. All such payments are handled in line with the fellowship’s policies and charitable obligations.
What your organisation does
Shankill Community Fellowship gathers regularly for public worship, prayer, Bible study, preaching, and teaching for all age groups. We provide pastoral care to those connected to the fellowship through personal contact, support, and prayer. We also serve the wider Shankill area and beyond by living out our faith in Jesus Christ, taking part in
outreach, evangelism, and community activities. We support other Christian organisations and charities through volunteering and prayer. We also provide practical and pastoral support to individuals and families involved in mission work.
