The direct benefits flowing from these purposes for participants/service users will include; • Improvements in physical and mental wellbeing through structured and supported programs that promote confidence, resilience, and emotional health. • Enhanced independence, including greater ability to manage daily living, make choices and participate in

community life. • Development of social, communication, and interpersonal skills, leading to stronger relationships and reduced isolation. • Increased opportunities for social inclusion, allowing service users to engage more fully in society, access employment or further opportunities where possible, and contribute to their communities. These benefits are provided directly to the young adult beneficiaries and are intended to be tangible and measurable through participation, skill progression, and outcomes such as increased independence or involvement in vocational pathways. The indirect benefits of the provision will offer support to the families and carers of the service users in providing respite and a consistent and reliable provision for the young people as they transition from school or from other provisions. The wider benefits of the provision will be in that it creates increased choice for young adults with learning difficulties on leaving school within Banbridge and the surrounding area especially for those young adults for whom a training or day care pathway is not appropriate. The charity's purposes are exclusively charitable and are for the public benefit in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland). Any benefit to a trustee (or connected person, e.g. their child) from accessing the charity's services is incidental only. Such access would occur on the same objective terms and criteria as apply to any other eligible member of the public, with no preferential treatment, priority, reserved places, or other advantage.

What your organisation does

The BASE NI will work to promote and advance the personal, social, emotional development of young adults with learning disability within the Banbridge and surrounding areas through the provision/offer of Monday- Friday (full-time) daytime opportunities. The BASE NI will provide targeted educational programmes and vocational learning opportunities

designed to support young adults with learning disability enhance their understanding and participation in the local community fostering independence, self-esteem, confidence fulfilment, personal growth and social inclusion.

Charitable purposes

4.1. The Charity’s Objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of health, education and wellbeing of young adults with disabilities and special educational needs (“beneficiaries”) in the Banbridge and surrounding area (“area of benefit”) and in particular: 4.1.1. to provide, or assist in the provision of various programmes of education designed to assist the beneficiaries in the area of benefit in relation to personal, social and emotional development; 4.1.2. to promote social inclusion and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare with the objective of promoting independence, dignity and inclusion; and 4.1.3. such other exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the law as the Trustees determine from time to time. Nothing in the Articles shall authorise an application of the property of the Charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with s.2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
