What your organisation does

We coach basketball in primary schools and secondary schools from p4 up to year 10. We currently coach in 46 schools. These are 8 week coaching programmes which culminates in 19 basketball tournaments a year between participating schools. The participating schools are both Catholic and Protestant and Integrated and involve boys and girls. We run

and fund the Northern Ireland Schools Cups for girls and boys U15- U19. We also run various basketball camps throughout the year for children aged 5-18 using 4 different venues. We are currently coaching 7,100 children a year using local and international coaches. We run an elite programme for girls and boys starting from age 12. This is an 8 week summer programme which involves coaching and tournaments and international trips to attend camps and tournaments.

Charitable purposes

(a) to promote cross-community participation of young people in Northern Ireland in the sport of basketball by the provision of facilities and training, to enhance health and wellbeing and improve community relations; (b) to foster community and international relations, strengthening and broadening ties between communities in Northern Ireland and the United States by highlighting the ability of sports to develop and support such relationships.
