Public benefits

Glens Coastal Rowing Club exists to advance amateur sport—specifically coastal rowing—and to improve health, wellbeing, and community cohesion in the Glens coastal area. We provide affordable coached sessions, learn‑to‑row programmes, social/masters rowing, and participation at local regattas. Our activities promote physical activity,

mental wellbeing, teamwork, confidence, and connection, addressing rural isolation and limited access to sport. There is no harm arising from our purposes. Beneficiaries are the general public in our catchment, with a focus on older adults, women. We operate an open‑to‑all membership, and run free community taster days so the public can access rowing without membership. Any private benefit (e.g., coaching qualifications, personal fitness) is incidental and necessary to achieving our purposes. We manage safety through qualified coaches, risk assessments, safeguarding, and adherence to national rowing water‑safety standards.
