Stroke survivors tend to lose their confidence in engaging outside the home, our group members understand and relate to the many challenges survivors face and provide an important listening ear, support, and encouragement in a safe environment. Through both one to one support and peer group support we build relationships and confidence which has a
significant benefit to survivors and their family network. This includes supporting younger survivors in their return to work. We can demonstrate this by the very high levels of active engagement weekly including attendance at our weekly events and the feedback we get when we speak to our members. no harm Stroke survivors, their families and carers No
What your organisation does
Our members meet weekly for a wide range of activities including stroke survivors and their carers. These do include a wide range of social, motivational and educational activities. Stroke survivors are referred to the group from the Hospital, Doctors and Nurses. We support these survivors on their recovery journey including providing information
and guidance. We raise funds from private and business donations and grants.
