Public benefits
Creative Arts & Music directly benefits children and young people by improving access to music education, enhancing emotional wellbeing and confidence, and developing cognitive, creative, academic, literacy, and numeracy skills such as concentration, problem-solving, and teamwork. Through collaborative music-making and community events, we enable
social inclusion, reduce isolation and encourage future creative opportunities. The charity benefits will be demonstrated through student progress and performance outcomes, feedback and testimonials from participants and partners, attendance and participation records, public performances showcasing skills and confidence, and partnership evaluations or community impact reports evidencing increased access, inclusion, and cultural engagement. No significant harm arises from the Charity’s purposes. All activities are designed to be inclusive, supportive, and safe for children and young people. Potential risks, such as safeguarding or data protection concerns, are carefully managed through robust safeguarding policies, appropriate supervision, and compliance with relevant legislation to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all participants. The charity’s beneficiaries are children and young people across Northern Ireland, particularly those who face financial, social, or geographical barriers to accessing music education and creative opportunities. Any private benefit flowing from the Charity’s purposes is incidental and necessary to achieving its aims. For example, music tutors or workshop leaders may receive reasonable payment for their professional services, and volunteers or performers may gain experience or exposure through public events. These benefits are secondary to, and only occur as part of, delivering the Charity’s core purpose of advancing music education and promoting the arts for the public benefit.
What your organisation does
Creative Arts & Music supports education and promotes the arts by offering free or subsidised music tuition, creative workshops, and community outreach projects for children and young people across Northern Ireland. We partner with schools and local groups, run inclusive ensembles and bands, and organise public performances. These activities remove
barriers to participation, nurture talent, build confidence, and strengthen community connections through music.
