What your organisation does

We organise monthly meetings to explore, educate and inform our members about various historical, cultural and archeological subjects, inviting guest speakers who have specialist knowledge on local history and folklore. We also cooperate with other local groups in organising trips of mutual interest.

Charitable purposes

• To gather and collate local information of historical and cultural interest. • To promote a deeper understanding of local history, folklore and culture within the community. • To promote community involvement and cross community relations through the exploration, understanding and appreciation of history, folklore and culture. • To publish, periodically, a journal and other pamphlets of interest from gathered and collated information. • To create opportunities to reduce social isolation and loneliness through the shared interest of local history, folklore and culture • To liaise and collaborate with all relevant statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations, stakeholders and beneficiaries to further the aims of the Organisation • To raise funds to ensure the continuance and sustainability of this group • The group shall be non-party political
