Public benefits

The benefits which flow from this purpose are:- advancing the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play; allowing parents the right to become involved in the activities of the group; promoting the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; promoting a good standard of pre-school education and supporting

the values and principles of the Early Years organisation. The benefits are measured by the numbers of families making use of the facility and the records of child development kept by staff. An annual inspection is carried out by the Social Services Trust which requests feedback from parents and this forms part of the report. There are no harmful activities as health and safety is closely regulated by both the management team and Social Services with guidance from Early Years. The Charity’s beneficiaries are 3-5 year old pre-school children in the local area, without regard to religious affiliation or other beliefs of the families concerned. There is a private benefit resulting from any of our activities as the playgroup staff are paid for their services to the playgroup. This private benefit is incidental to the rest of the work of the organisation.

What your organisation does

Doagh Preschool Playgroup is a community run non-profit making organisation which serves to meet the needs of all children and carers in the Doagh community and surrounding areas. We aim to provide an equal opportunities , high quality, affordable, professional childcare facility. We provide a warm, friendly and stimulating environment.

The Playgroup is overseen by a voluntary management committee made up of members from the local Doagh community. The day to day running of the group is managed by highly qualified, professional and dedicated team of staff, catering to all children in their care. Doagh Preschool Playgroup was formed in 2016 following the closure of a privately run playgroup in the area and has benefited from the ongoing support of parents, committees and the local community. The Playgroup is a member of Early Years, the organisation for young children. It is registered with the Department of Health and Social Services for children aged 3 - 5 years and the staff ratio is always at least 1:8. The Playgroup operates daily Monday to Friday, 9.15am to 12.15pm during school term time. The children are provided with excellent opportunities for learning through play in all areas of children's development, drawing on the interests of each individual child in their care.
