Public benefits
The direct benefits of which flow from the Retreat Days are: Spiritual nourishment, a break away from the day-to-day norm, time on their own, and talking to others going through the same/similar life experiences. Meet-ups: Mum's are able to bring the children to these and it's a good way for them to interact with other families. Time out of the
house and learning new skills (From planned activities). Social Media: There is a strong support network in place for the mothers involved. This helps women to cope with day-to-day stresses of bringing up a family and help in learning more about their faith in a safe environment. Family Days: This is a day for the whole family and is beneficial for the whole family to do things together. This connection for the whole family with Catholic Mothers Ireland leads to more involvement and encouragement to be involved in all other activities. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from Retreat attendees feedback forms, personal messages from mothers who have been helped and by word of mouth, about how important the Catholic Mothers has been in helping women and families. This group started off in 205 with 7 mothers and has now grown to over 300. We are continuing to grow monthly and there is widespread interest in the organisation and it's great work in the area of Catholic Motherhood and family life within the church. The purposes of our charity will not lead to harm or possibility of harm. The charity's beneficiaries are Catholic mothers who attend the retreats and who link in with us through social media platforms. Their husbands and children also benefit from our work. There is no private benefit from our purposes.
What your organisation does
Retreat days: for mums only, four times a year, as a way for them to connect with other mums and to deepen their faith, so they can get the support and encouragement they need in their vocation. Local meet-ups: These are arranged on a monthly basis where mothers have the opportunity to meet, pray together, or learn new skills (such as rosary
making, knitting, crocheting, arts & crafts). Family events (pray and play days) two times a year. This is where the whole family can come and join in activities with other families to share and develop their faith. All Saints Day in November and Summer meet up. Social Media: We use our website, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to connect with our network of mothers. We use it to coordinate activities such as setting up local Catholic Mothers groups, Marian devotion and consecration, Mass and Adoration, Intercessory prayer, scripture study and catechesis, to learn from each other in the practical daily life of a mother sharing recipies, parenting tips and other skills we have within the group.
