Downpatrick community Allotments The direct benefits which flow from our purpose includes the development, progression, maintenance and enhancement of the allotment facilities. To improve education, health and well-being and increase employment opportunities. The participants learn new skills and share their own knowledge and experiences with

each other. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries and by the level of uptake of services. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living locally in Downpatrick and surrounding area in the District of County Down. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training programmes. Through this training trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. What your organisation does

Downpatrick community Allotments have designed and developed, a local community allotment space for the local residents within the Downpatrick and surrounding areas. we continue to progress, maintain and enhance the allotment facilities. We provide training,education, health and well-being workshops and and increase volunteering

opportunities. The participants learn new skills and share their own knowledge and experiences with each other. We are involved in various community activities by undertaking environmental schemes within the area.

Charitable purposes

The Purpose of the Allotments Purpose 1.)The allotments is established to improve the quality of life of residents living in Downpatrick and surrounding area, irrespective of sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, political, religious or other opinion by associating with statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and the private sector. Purpose 2.) To advance citizenship and community development to inspire civic pride and voluntary and community activity, by undertaking environmental planting and improvements to Downpatrick Community allotments.
