Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of the Men’s Shed includes tackling relevant local issues such as mental health and social isolation helping to reduce this and thus increase social networks for men within the Ballynahinch area. We aim to bring local men together to provide a welcoming venue for men to talk and connect within
Ballynahinch and surrounding areas. We also provide the opportunity for skills development for local men helping to advance the health and wellbeing of men in Ballynahinch and surrounding areas. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries and by the level of uptake of our projects and activities. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are men and people living in Ballynahinch and surrounding area. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of seasonal events, support and partnership work with local community and voluntary groups. Through this work trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
