Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the improvement of communication between the school staff, parents, carers, families of those with additional needs. Reduction of stress on families, carers with the strengthening of relationships with the school. Increase the provision of educational items, equipment, items of need through
fundraising to enhance the educational experience of students. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from families, carers, school staff and regular independent evaluation of our services through interviews, surveys and on-line forms. Also through questionnaires that form the School Development Plan every 2 years. These purposes do not lead to harm. Students of Sperrinview Special School, their families, carers, those with additional needs, their families, carers who choose to participate in the various community outreach activities throughout the year As a majority of volunteers are parents of children who attend the school, these children will gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries who are enrolled at the school. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
The organisation hosts events throughout the year to provide information and support to adults and children with special/additional needs and their families. Developing strong links between the school, families and the wider community to create an inclusive and supportive community in the Mid Ulster area and beyond. Through these events we have
identified needs and fundraised in order to provide every primary school aged child with a brand new winter coat, hosted sensory play days during summer break and information days for families both in the school and in the community to better access services as well as discounts for specialised equipment.
