Newtownstewart Community Forum provides a shared space for the residents of our community. We organise meetings with different agencies,schedule classes for all to avail and help those in need. The forum has built a close relationship with our community residents. Our youth have excelled academically. The older generation have more options of

social life. The outreach house we provide has become a shared space for parents & toddlers. The forum provides any help it can to anyone in need. no The Newtownstewart community residents and surrounding rural areas. no

What your organisation does

Our organisation provides seasonal activities, summer projects, art & drama classes, cooking for the elderly and health and wellbeing projects for all our community. We have recently opened our allotments site which has helped people socialise and get active.Our new outreach house has opened it's doors to the community to avail of appointments for

housing Executive, Citizens advice, Wellness, Community policing and youth involvement to help combat ASB in our community. Newtownstewart Community Forum has brought everyone together through our cross community policy. Everyone in our community is treated the same reguadless of race,religion, gender and other.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Newtownstewart area without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, class,marital status, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and community sector organizations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular, with regard to: Economic Development 1. Provide opportunities for businesses to network and interact with each other 2. Encourage positive partnershipworking and create opportunities for shared learning 3. Build the capacity of local businesses through professional development opportunities Social Development 1. Work with local and national agencies to address issues of social deprivation 2. Facilitate opportunities for good relations activities and personal development 3. Promote the benefits of an inclusive, dynamic and pluralist community 4. Aspire to address the issues facing vulnerable groups including the elderly and young people. Cultural Development 1. Organize activities which promote and uphold the diverse cultural heritage 2. Run events which showcase local talent and inspire inward cultural investment 3. Host events that attract an increase in tourism across the Newtownstewart area 4. Seek to preserve the cultural activities for future generations.
