Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? No, there is no harm arising from any of these purposes. Who are the charity’s beneficiaries? People with a hearing loss. This includes Deaf people who communicate in Sign Language and others who use different communication tools. Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that the organisation will reap from individual and team achievements, raising the profile of the organisation to reach out to new membership.

What your organisation does

We deliver annual local Deaf Bowls competitions and support individuals representing the Northern Ireland Deaf Bowls team participating in annual Home Nations Deaf Lawn Bowls tournaments and also the International Deaf Lawn Bowls tournament which occurs every four years.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established as a governing body for the relief of disability and to advance the education of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”) in Northern Ireland (the “area of benefit”) through their leisure time activities by the provision, or assisting in the provision, of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation and in particular the playing of bowls with the object of improving the conditions of life of such persons.
