Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the advancement of education by providing advice, guidance and support through practical work experience and vocational training programmes, in an operational hospitality setting. This includes a training facility with experienced teaching personnel to train and enhance people’s
employability for entering the catering and hospitality sector. These benefits are evidenced through, qualitative feedback from the beneficiaries of the training, the personnel involved in delivering the training and employers. Quantifiable evidence will be gathered from, the number of trainees having completed the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Professional Bartending (Cocktails), OCN (NI) Level 2 Food & Beverage Service or FDQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Chef. In addition, the benefits will also be evidenced via the success of trainees obtaining employment in the hospitality and tourism industry. There is no direct harm directly caused by this purpose but there will be incidental health and safety issues from working in a vocational training environment which will be mitigated by the H&S policies employed by the training facility. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in Northern Ireland. A private benefit to the trainee beneficiaries may arise from the enhanced employment prospects that the training will provide to them personally. Other private benefits may arise from the trustees’ gaining skills, experience which are transferable to other settings. Other private benefits may arise for businesses in Northern Ireland who employ the skilled trainees from the charity’s training programmes. These benefits are incidental, necessary and a consequence of, the way in which the charity's purposes are carried out for the public benefit, but it is not part of the charity's purposes to provide this benefit to those individuals.
