The Charity’s purpose is the advancement of the Christian faith within Knockbracken. The Charity achieves its purpose by providing a place of public worship. The public benefits directly flowing from the Charity’s purposes are a greater understanding of the Christian faith amongst the Knockbracken community and wider public. By providing a place of

public worship for the Knockbracken community the Charity enables Christians to exercise their faith with other like-minded individuals. These public benefits can be demonstrated through attendance and engagement at public worship and other services at the church buildings. Informal feedback can also be received from attendees. Benefits are often demonstrated through improved moral standards and behaviour of attendees and the wider community. There is no harm arising from the Charity’s purposes. The Charity’s beneficiaries are Christians and the wider public within Knockbracken. There is no private benefit flowing from the Charity’s purposes.

What your organisation does

The Charity provides a place of public worship in accordance with the doctrinal statements of Knockbracken Congregational Church and the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches. The church buildings are used for weddings, funerals, baptisms and thanksgiving services for the general public as well as public worship services which take

place every Sunday. The Charity allows the church buildings to be used for other charitable activities run by the Knockbracken Congregational Church which align with the charity’s shared purpose of advancing the Christian faith in Knockbracken.

Charitable purposes

The advancement of the Christian Faith, in accordance with the Basis of Faith (set out in Schedule 1), primarily but not exclusively within Knockbracken and the surrounding neighbourhood; such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the Congregation, further the work of the Church PROVIDED THAT such purposes are not inconsistent with the charitable purposes of the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches.
