The direct benefits flowing from the charity's purposes is the exposure to a greater audience the best kept secret in the world of drama in Northern Ireland. AUDF has ambition to become the unifying voice of amateur drama in Northern Ireland and aims to improve all areas of drama including – audiences, productions and governance. How are the
benefits demonstrated: Feedback from actors, productions and audiences. Is there any harm arising from the purposes: No. Who are the beneficiaries: The general public who attend festivals in Northern Ireland and the Charity's members as set out in its Constitution. There is no private benefit. Any benefit to members is incidental as a consequence of being involved in the festivals.
What your organisation does
AUDF is the umbrella body of amateur drama festivals in Northern Ireland and it stages a 1-Act and a Full-Length Final Festival annually. AUDF promotes the celebration of live theatre, and encourages professionally judged competitions, which are the seedbed for actors for the benefit of the public and artists within performing arts. AUDF's
mission is to advance arts and culture for the benefit of the everyone in Northern Ireland through the promotion, development, and celebration of live theatre performances, particularly, but not exclusively, by providing festivals, theatre skills workshops, training, networking, and other events.
