What your organisation does
Seapatrick football club was founded in 1947 to provide people in the area with the opportunity to play both recreational and competitive football. The club provides regular football coaching within the local community, this includes multiple training sessions per week plus a minimum of 1 match per week. We have 2 adult teams which cater for ages
16 to 40+ years of age. We run youth football participation opportunities for local children and young people. In order to provide low-cost amateur sports participation, we organise fundraising events that are inclusive of the whole community. We facilitate kids soccer camps and social play opportunities that cater for school age children. We have secured a long lease from the local authority / council for a term of 21 years. This has been our club playing pitch located at Havelock Park, Banbridge. We have initiated plans to develop the facilities at Havelock Park for the benefit of the local community by obtaining grant funding to build new changing facilities with function room plus upgrade of the playing facilities. We work positively with other local sports clubs, youth groups, community groups and schools to ensure local people can participate in low-cost physical sports participation opportunities. As a club we add value to the local community by creating an inclusive club, contributing to social cohesion while enhancing the health and wellbeing of local people. Since Seapatrick FC’s move to Havelock Park, the club has grown and improved its management team and structure of the club. With continued support from numerous members of the club volunteers and committee, we enable local people to play competitive football in the Mid-Ulster Football League.
