Empowerment & Inspiration: Instilling a profound sense of empowerment in participants. Serving as role models and inspiring others. 5. Long-Term Impact: Building confidence, resilience, and positive self-image. 7. Community Engagement:Encouraging community participation and awareness around abilities. 8. Environmental Stewardship: Promoting sustainability and conservation in local coastal/marine areas. These benefits collectively contribute to a more inclusive and empowered community. These benefits have been demonstrated through past participants before Swellbeing existed. When dedicated local surf instructors were operating adaptive surf lessons alongside mainstream lessons. Participants have reported enhanced physical fitness, improved balance, and reduced stress levels as a result of engaging in adaptive surfing sessions. Health improvements have been measured through post surf assessments and participant feedback. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. Surfing is a sport and with any sport there are risks. However these risks are managed and reduced by an experienced team of qualified instructors & lifeguards. The charity benefits anyone in Northern Ireland who has a physical, cognitive or combined disability and wishes to access the sport of surfing. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

Swellbeing fulfills its mission through adaptive surfing programs, enhancing participants' health, promoting inclusion, and instilling empowerment. These programs create a safe space for people with disabilities to learn and engage in surfing, offering both physical and psychological benefits. Adaptive surfing is not just about catching waves; it's

about breaking down barriers, fostering belonging, and challenging physical limitations. Participants often experience a profound sense of empowerment and serve as role models within their communities. Swellbeing recognises the lasting impact of its programs, helping individuals build confidence and resilience, extending into various aspects of their lives. In essence, these programs contribute to a more inclusive and empowered society.
