[What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes?] Provision of welcoming space in the community for all Using fresh food donated by local supermarkets/ food stores to distribute to the community rather than the food going to landfill. Reusing donated pre loved baby items such as prams. cots, clothes to distribute to anyone

who requires support during difficult financial times. Both projects have an environmental impact both with this and future generations. Using Cafe space to provide education classes such as basic cooking skills for those who have not used fresh food previously and now have access to this through the community fridge. Allowing 50 plus local volunteers to feel valued as they support others in their community. [How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated?] Evaluation report of the Community Fridge (attached) demonstrates the feedback from the community since the service was commenced 1 year ago. [Is there any harm aising from any of the purposes?] No intentional harm. [Who are the charity's beneficiaries?] Anyone in the community regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, ability or political view. Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary?] A manager to manage the service will be required to run the service over 5 days a week and is a necessary investment. The remaining volunteers, approximately 50, will support the manager

What your organisation does

Ballycastle Community Hub provides a welcoming space 5 days a week in a Community cafe type environment where anyone in the area can come and access donated food items from local supermarkets which would otherwise go to landfill. Coffee/ Tea and homemade cakes will be served. A Baby Bank will be open one day a week to issue pre loved and new baby

goods to those facing financial difficulties. Referrals to the Baby Bank will be received via local healthcare professionals. Baby items will be donated by the local community. Education classes will be provided in the evenings in basic cooking skills, public health issues etc Volunteers will be recruited from the local community, many of whom are living on their own and benefit from the companionship the Community Hub provides.

Charitable purposes

The objects ("Objects") of the company are through charitable means to advance citizenship and community development and prevent or relieve poverty for members of the local community in the Ballycastle and surrounding areas. (a) to provide a range of activities designed to reduce social isolation, teach important life skills, and improve physical and mental health and wellbeing; (b) To promote positive citizenship by enouraging volunteers to work within their local comminity; (c) To assist in the prevention or relief of food poverty through the provision of a community larder utilising donated food from supermarkets and elsewhere that would otherwise be discarded; (d) To operate a baby bank which will provide baby clothing and equipment to familoies who are struggling to provide the basic essentials for their babies.
