Public benefits
The benefits which shall flow from these purposes include, Improvement of the mental and physical health and wellbeing of individuals aged 18 and over in the Lisburn and greater Lisburn area, who identify as living with a physical disability or long-term illness (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”). In the interests of equality, diversity and
with the object of improving the conditions of life for the beneficiaries benefits include strengthening individuals’ abilities to avail of programmes which will improve their circumstances and opportunities; Establishing a community Hub will maintain and manage the charity’s objectives and facilities will be provided to beneficiaries and other members of the public for capacity building and recreation and other leisure time occupation, improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, alleviating depression and anxiety, creating life-skills, educating, connecting to the arts, culture and heritage, improving fitness levels, through workshops, demonstrations and information sessions; community development and creating volunteering and job opportunities. Through, advocacy and empowerment, we will help build-confidence, self-esteem and independence. By way of innovation, breaking barriers, improving behaviors and attitudes within the local area, strengthens disability inclusion through knowledge building, connecting communities and working in synergy with other organisations to make a greater impact to the beneficiaries. These benefits will be demonstrated through feedback from participants attending our service via feedback, surveys and evaluation forms and from regular reviews and evaluation of our services and progression. There is no harm anticipated from the charity’s purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public, individuals living in the Lisburn and greater Lisburn area, over the age of 18 and who identify as living with a physical disability or long-term illness. This purpose leads to an increase of footfall in the city center that may benefit local businesses making it a private benefit to these businesses. This is an incidental benefit flowing from this purpose. Another private benefit flowing from this purpose is that directors gain training and skills that are transferrable. These benefits are incidental and necessary to promote and sustain the charities service provision.
What your organisation does
Synergy will provide an inclusive environment for where beneficiaries can gather, socilise and avail of leisure and learning activities and programmes which help improve mental and physical health and wellbeing, in the form of an accessible community hub in Lisburn. Open daily, we will offer a range of quality services and activities including:
arts, crafts, heritage, culture, exercise, walking/outdoor, mindfulness, focus groups, advice/information that will be tailored to meet the needs of adults with physical disabilities and illnesses living in the Lisburn and greater Lisburn area. Connecting individuals and communities, we will also work collaboratively with community, voluntary and statutory organisations, working in synergy to deliver a stronger outcome to the beneficiaries.
