Public benefits

The direct benefits from Purpose (i) serve as a valuable public benefit by fostering spiritual growth, moral development, and a sense of community among individuals and families. Through our teachings, worship services, and outreach programs, we aim to provide guidance, support, and a sense of purpose to individuals seeking to deepen their faith

and understanding of Christian principles. In doing so, we contribute to the well-being of society by nurturing values of compassion, love, and service, ultimately enriching the lives of our community members and promoting a more harmonious and morally grounded society." The direct benefits from Purpose (ii) bring about significant public benefit. This allows our organisation to remain flexible and responsive to evolving societal needs. By adapting our efforts to address various charitable causes, we provide a public benefit that extends beyond any specific mission. These endeavours may include but are not limited to alleviating poverty, advancing education, promoting health and well-being, and supporting vulnerable populations. Through these diverse initiatives, we aim to make a positive and lasting impact on our community and society at large, ensuring that our organisation remains a valuable and dynamic force for the betterment of all." The benefits of the organisation's purposes are demonstrated through various means, such as increased attendance, positive feedback from beneficiaries and community representatives, and endorsement from local council and funding bodies. For example, purpose (i) is demonstrated by the growth of attendance and feedback from beneficiaries via social media comments, emails, and verbal approbation. Purpose (ii) is demonstrated by addressing emerging challenges, contributing to important causes, and providing support where it is most needed in the community and feedback as referred to above. The organisation will demonstrate this via free public events, and provisions distributed via current societal needs, endorsed and partly funded by local councils. Overall, the organisation has a positive impact on the community it serves and is committed to reaching out to all members of that community. No harm arises from the organisation's purposes. It is worth noting that the organisation reaches out to all communities and cultures in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, and its primary beneficiaries are the congregation and the public who attend the free events. The beneficiaries range in age from birth to the elderly and include people from diverse religious backgrounds and people from different ethnic minority backgrounds. No private benefit arises from the organisation's purposes save for the benefit received to Pastors of the organisation who are also directors.

What your organisation does

Abbey Life Church was established in Newtownabbey as a non-denominational evangelical church to cater for the spiritual needs of the members and the local community by encouraging active participation within the community based on biblical principles for life and to unite an interfaith community. The main objective is to advance the Christian faith

for the benefit of the public. The basis of this faith is found in the Holy Bible. The church believes that mission is the focal point of the Gospel and that mission should be a key element in the life of Christians. As a consequence of this, the objects of the church also span the relief of poverty, sickness, hardship and distress and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants in the County Antrim, Northern Ireland primarily and in any other part of the world as the Directors may think fit. The church has a busy schedule of Sunday services and weekly life group meetings. All the services are open to the public. The Church also seeks to reach out and offer services to meet the wider needs of the community, for the public benefit. Amongst other things, it is hoped that these activities will include mental health support, counselling, youth groups, kids programmes, summer camps and business and life coaching. The Church also supports other charitable organisations involved in missionary work and relief of poverty overseas. The church carries out a wide range of services that assist local charities. It's the aim of the church to fund all activities. The Church seeks to advance the Christian faith and promote Christianity in such ways and in such areas as the leadership sees fit, and in particularly but not exclusively through the provision of preaching, distribution of Christian literature and the education of people in the area of benefit through the provision of biblically based teaching, meetings, bible studies and social activities.
