What your organisation does

Receives donations of food which are added to a stock of food purchased from funding to offer clients on IR benefits and low income a weekly shop of food depending on their circumstances ie single/couple/family membership for a small weekly membership fee. Free fruit & vegetables are provided free of charge. Short date food is used by the cafe to

provide affordable food to members eg soup and stew. We are based in Ballymena town but deliver to Community venues in rural areas and to the towns of Carrickfergus and Larne

Charitable purposes

The charity's objects ('Objects') are specifically restricted to the following: The objects of MEA Affordable Food Club and Cafe Limited are: The prevention or relief of poverty and the relief of those in financial need, through the provision of affordable food projects for the benefit of citizens residing in the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area. For the avoidance of doubt, the system of law governing the articles of association of the charity is the law of Northern Ireland.
