The direct benefits flowing from purpose 7 include: The ability to maintain and enhance our purposes and direct benefits within the context of large scale global and national events and crises. The benefits will be demonstrated through collated quantitative and qualitative reporting on the direct benefits identified above including data such as: Increased numbers of beneficiaries (including the beneficiaries mentioned in object 3 above) taking part in the activities of the organisation; Increased reported wellbeing markers and; Increased group activity. [Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes?] No [Who are the charity's beneficiaries?] Those disadvantaged from accessing education, especially in arts, cultural and heritage activities by reason of financial hardship, disability, age or otherwise. There is a private benefit for volunteers and trustees in terms of: - the feelgood associated with preparing materials and delivering educational, artistic and cultural activities; - the heightened awareness, and increased brand recognition, of the tutors as both educators and performers; - where appropriate we intend to pay all artists and specialists used in the delivery of our programmes of activity (this will be a circular benefit in that the livelihoods of such artists will be sustained which will in turn allow them to develop their practice and a circle of benefit created). These benefits are incidental and necessary because without the artists/specialists/tutors the charity could not deliver its programmes of activity and fulfill its purposes. No harm arises from these purposes.
What your organisation does
MNL’s primary activities at present include designing a pilot keyboard music education programme involving a hub of primary schools and around 100 students (including those with a disability and from disadvantaged backgrounds). All students were provided with a keyboard and tuition. We also enhance our education activities with performance
opportunities and some of our students have had opportunity to play for residents at nursing homes creating a circle of benefit and we are developing further opportunities such as this. Our volunteers have a proven track record within musical education and in the area of music performance and our students have performed at festivals and as part of our outreach initiative where we have arranged performances of music in a number of settings including festivals, residential care accommodation and for organisations providing services for disabled adults.
