Public benefits
The direct benefits from The Ardbone Festival include, those within the local area taking an interest and wanting to get involved in cleaning and the upkeep of the local community by getting involved with the community clean ups and entry oasis. This benefits the local council as there are less reports of rubbish, dog fouling etc. The benefits
that flow from the young people getting involved in the festival include less antisocial behavior, more education, improved mental health by taking part in locally run gym classes, yoga, walking groups, finance management classes etc. Benefits flowing from family's involvement include free/low-cost family friendly activities, opportunities to learn and engage with organisations to better themselves or their families such as historic, educational and fun events. Pensioners also benefit from our festival as we offer tea dances, dinners, bus runs, bingo and meet the neighbor events, this is all to ensure older people within our community are feeling involved. We aim to ensure none of our pensioners feel isolated. These events each year are always very well attended. Lastly, other organizations, community groups, charities and businesses will benefit from our festival events throughout the year, we encourage all those interested to get involved with our community car boot sale, we encourage those to come along to each event and promote what their organisation is about, and we help raise money for charities during each festival. The Ardbone festival benefits many you people, individuals, families and pensioners by offering several free family friendly events throughout the year. We provide an opportunity for young people to engage and get involved within the community throughout community clean ups and entry oasis's. We want young people to take pride in their community and be proud of where they live. Young people will also have the opportunity to learn and educate themselves on the history of the areas they grew up in, through events, dramas and history projects. This will also help prevent young from engaging in any anti-social behaviors especially during the summer months Families will benefit from The Ardbone Festival events as we aim to include everyone, we are aware that as one of the most deprived areas in Belfast we have many low-income families attending our events, which is why we aim for most of our events to be free. No harm arises from any of our purposes, precautions are taken before, during and after each festival event. We have policies and procedures in place which are regularly reviewed and updated. Our volunteers attend training each year which include first aid and child safeguarding. The beneficiaries are the local community the festival serves, the businesses and organsiations surrounding the area. N/A
