Charitable purposes

Insofar as is exclusively charitable and for the public benefit: − The advancement of education on maritime activities within and around the harbour − The saving of lives through water safety awareness − The advancement of citizenship and community development amongst harbour users, in particular through the creation of a community facility − The preservation of those aspects of the harbour which are of heritage value − The advancement of amateur water sports which constitute ‘healthy recreation’, including canoeing, swimming, paddleboarding and sailing − The advancement of environmental protection and improvement of the harbour area − The advancement of health through the establishment of a mental health awareness group Newcastle Harbour Heritage Association is established for the benefit of the public, including the local and wider communities and all harbour users
