What your organisation does

Our aim is to work in partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals in order to provide appropriate play and experiences to allow for progression of development in each individual child. Adults will create a safe, happy stimulating and positive environment in order to enable each child to develop skills within the curriculum, to ensure a

positive start to lifelong learning. Our group is managed by a committee which is elected at the Annual General Meeting (held in June each year). The committee has a vital role as it manages the running of the group. Hansel & Gretel Preschool aims to support parents/carers in their essential role as the first educators of their children and aims to ensure all families are actively encouraged to participate in the work of the setting and contribute to the learning environment we provide for their children. Hansel & Gretel Preschool, like other voluntary educational settings, heavily relies on financial support from its members and the local community to ensure that our service can be maintained throughout the year. Fundraising events are held to raise money to purchase new equipment or replace damaged equipment etc. All activities at Hansel & Gretel Preschool aim to provide children with the opportunity through play and other experiences, to develop learning associated with the 6 areas of the Curriculum, as directed by the Department of Education (Personal Social & Emotional, Language, Physical, Maths, Arts, World).
