The direct benefits are grants to beneficiaries in accordance with the Rules of the Fund. These benefits are demonstrated through the provision of financial grants to beneficiaries not less than twice a year, with occasional additional grants. There is no harm. Beneficiaries are spinster Ladies over the age of 55 in reduced circumstances and in

association with the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland or a body in association with the same. There is no private benefit.

Charitable purposes

2, The income arising from the Fund was paid to the said Rebecca Bodel for her own use during her life, and this income is now to be paid and repaid and applied - after deducting all necessary outgoings and expenses of Administration - in the first instance to the assistance and relief of Spinster Ladies in reduced circumstances who may comply with the following requirements (From Rule 2 of the Rules of the Bodel-Mackenzie Benevolent Fund) A. Each such Spinster Lady shall be of age of fifty-five year at least, and the Trustees shall be satisfied with such proof of age as they in their discretion think sufficient. B. Each such Spinster Lady must have been for five year immediately preceding the date of application a member of some recognized Church connected with the Association of Irish Non-Subscribing Presbyterians and other Free Christians; or in the even of the said Association becoming extinct, then for five years a members of some recognized Church connected with the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland.
