The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are enabling the schemes that make up the Shopmobility Northern Ireland Network to provide the services that help and allow users greater independence, to reduce social isolation and enable users to take an active part in society and improve the quality of life of those with limited mobility. The

benefits can be demonstrated by the continued increase in the amount of usage the schemes receive each year; the increase in the number of individuals that use the services each year; the continued survival of the schemes despite the challenges of reduced funding and higher demand. What your organisation does

Shopmobility Northern Ireland carries out its purpose in the following ways: (i) providing governance, operational and developmental support, training and advice; (ii) identifying opportunities for funding; (iii) promoting best practice; (iv) providing a Forum where member organisations can join together to find mutual support, exchange views,

share common issues and information, create a collective voice for Northern Ireland Shopmobility schemes and work in partnership with statutory agencies and authorities; (v) facilitating the recruitment and placement of volunteers; and (vi) encouraging and facilitating the establishment of new schemes.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (‘the Objects’) are to relieve the need of people with disabilities or any form of mobility impairment by assisting existing and emerging Shopmobility schemes in Northern Ireland in all or any of the following ways: (i) providing governance, operational and developmental support, training and advice; (ii) identifying opportunities for funding; (iii) promoting best practice; (iv) providing a Forum where member organisations can join together to find mutual support, exchange views, share common issues and information, create a collective voice for Northern Ireland Shopmobility schemes and work in partnership with statutory agencies and authorities; (v) facilitating the recruitment and placement of volunteers; and (vi) encouraging and facilitating the establishment of new schemes.
