What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes? Colmcille Pipe Band promotes and encourage the culture and advancement of Pipe Band Music, Colmcille Pipe Band teach learning skills associated with each discipline for the benefit of members and the general public. A bond of fellowship is maintained with all Pipe Band
Personnel through friendships and fellowships gained at competitions. The benefits flowing from the purposes are demonstrated through the outcomes of teaching and success at Pipe Band Competitions, Solo Competitions and the quality of our musical performances. The possibility of harm, for example by physical injury incurred by participation in pipe band events is outweighed by the benefit and significantly reduced by the policies and procedures in place to address such risks, i.e. safeguarding and child protection policy, health and safety policy, code of conduct for staff and volunteers. Colmcille Pipe Band is an equal opportunity organisation and membership and all activities and purposes are open to benefit any member of society. Performing at St Patrick's Day & Halloween Parades, or performing with the Cross Border Orchestra - The band members, and band benefit from their exposure to a wider audience which may result in their gaining a higher profile. This is incidental to the achievement of the purpose and, while a private benefit, is necessary to help the band achieve its charitable purpose.
