The direct benefits flowing from the Organisation is to support our local primary school for the purpose of advancing education, social and recreational activities to school age children and pre school children, and its community. The benefits can be demonstrated by: This is demonstrated through pupils having access to additional resources,

events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. The purposes do not lead to harm. St. Patricks Primary School, Ballygalget; its pupils and community. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

The Friends of St Patricks holds fundraising events throughout the school terms such as Bingo sponsored walks fitness fun days. This is organised and run by the members of the group and some volunteers such as past pupils and teachers.

Charitable purposes

The aims of the Friends of St Patrick's are to advance the education and wellbeing of the pupils of the school by providing or assisting in the provision of facilities for education or recreation at the school (not normally provided by the Local Authority). This may include: a) Promoting close relations and communication between parents and teachers; b) Discussing matters of mutual interest relating to the education and support of pupils; c) Engaging in activities which support and advance the education of the pupils attending the school, including fundraising and after-school activities; d) To provide and assist parents, teachers, pupils, with facilities or items for education at the school not provided by statutory funds.
