The direct benefits flowing from the organisation's purpose will be : The establishment of a well trained, volunteer led community first responder scheme, who will be able to respond quickly and promptly to emergency needs within the Slieve Croob area; Members of the local community of Slieve Croob DEA, will have access to live-saving care in a

range of medical emergencies, as permitted by the Norther Ireland Ambulance Services, prior to the arrival of the ambulance service and other emergency services. The benefits can be identified through the number of individuals who receive life saving care prior to the arrival of the ambulance services. No harm will arise from any of the purposes The beneficiaries of the charity will be anyone living within the area of benefit who may need the services of the First Responders in a medical emergency. There is no private benefit arising from any of the purposes. Private benefit to trustees may arise from our training programme as trustees will be eligible to avail of the group’s training available from NIAS. Through volunteering as trustees, individuals may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

A trained, equipped volunteer led service overseen by a Management Committee will work in partnership with NIAS to respond to life threatening situations in the agreed areas of Slieve Croob. We aim to make a significant contribution to a person's chance of surviving a life-threatening emergency when it occurs within the Slieve Croob area. We will

provide, as necessary, resuscitation including use of a defibrillator, care and support until the emergency services arrival.

Charitable purposes

To set up, and phase in, a volunteer led CFR scheme across areas of Slieve Croob in agreement with NIAS To recruit, co-ordinate and equip local volunteers who will be trained and alerted by NIAS to deliver a cross community CFR service in their locality. To reach and respond to potentially life-threatening emergencies, as agreed with NIAS, and provide basic emergency life support including the use of a defibrillator pending the arrival of an Emergency Ambulance.
