[What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes?] The initial grant aid was targeted at derelict buildings to promote rural regeneration on a site of deprivation. The properties include a retail outlet where a very successful business operates generating employment and training opportunities for up to 15 individuals. No
rent was collected for many months when the business was closed due to Covid 19. The property also included two self-contain apartments finished to a high standard providing reasonable affordable accommodation. Surplus income after costs will be used to support recreational facilities for the public at large including those by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty of social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities. [How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated?] Income for past year has been reduced for the commercial unit due to Covid 19. The restaurant increases its workforce during the busy summer months and provides permanent employment for many others. The bank loan will be repaid from rent roll in approx 9 months releasing additional surplus income to support the above groups. [Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes?] No [Who are the charity's beneficiaries?] The general public benefit with the provision of the successful restaurant, and affordable accommodation provided. Any surplus income generated will be distributed to many deserving cases as detailed above [Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary?] No”
What your organisation does
Retail and residential accommodation purchased and renovated some years ago with the aid of bank loan and grants owned by the charity.Current rental Income collected from property owned is used to pay bank loan and overheads. Any surplus income will be used to help charities and community groups who qualify with the objects and powers as outlined
in the attached Articles of Association.
