The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 include; natural habitats and built environment of the ancient Barony of Lecale (13 parishes) can be protected and conserved in a timely, environmentally friendly way for the people living in the above stated areas. The direct benefit flowing from purpose 2 include; the increased use of sustainable

farming methods which will result in the retention and encouragement of biodiversity for the area of the Barony of Lecale and its residents. The benefits from purpose 1 are demonstrated through the changes and effects and learning from the increased ,maintained natural habitats in the Baroney of Lecale area. The benefits from purpose 2 are demonstrated through an increased awareness and use of sustainable farming methods leading to greater areas of biodiversity. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity beneficiary is the public living in the Barony of Lecale, namely the 13 parishes of Ardglass, Ballee, Ballyculter, Ballykinlar, Bright, Down, Dunsfort, Inch, Kilclief, Kilmegan, Rathmullan, Saul, Tyrella all in Co Down. The charity beneficiary is also the enviornment. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

Lecale Conservation will engage in the following activities to further its purposes. 1.monitor, question, hold accountable government bodies with regard to their statutory obligations under European legislation. 2. lobby government at all levels to adopt best practice in all conservation matters, highlight the urgent need to designate areas of

merit. 3.make direct lawful responses in a prompt and timely manner to issues of concern to promote protection and conservation. 4. obtain legal advice in the furtherance of the Associations purposes, report crimes/breaches of laws/regulations to appropriate legal authorities. 5. support planning policy to achieve sustainable development in the countryside. 6. organise assist in organising meetings, lectures, classes exhibitions, publish/assist in publishing reports, periodicals,, recordings, books,other documents, information. 7. obtain, collect, receive money by way of grants, donations, bequests, legacies, lawful methods, provided that the Association shall not undertake any substantial permanent trading activities, shall conform to any relevant requirement of the law. 8. recruit, train volunteers with relevant skills to carry out the purposes of the Association. 9. promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above purposes , to work in association with authorities , voluntary organisations, relevant partners engaged in the furtherance of the purposes. 10. complie and maintain a data base of valuable sites. 11. do all such other lawful things as may be necessary for the attainment of the purposes.

Charitable purposes

The association's purposes are: 1. to protect and conserve the natural habitat and the built enviornment of an area bounded by the ancient Barony of Lecale that is the thirteen parishes of Ardglass, Balee, Ballyculter, Ballykimlar, Bright, Down, Dunsfort, Inch, Kilclief, Kilmegan,Rathmullan, Saul, Tyrella, in Co Down. 2. to promote sustainable farming methods which retain and encourage biodiversity.
