Public benefits
The direct benefits that flow from Derrylin First Tuesday Group purposes are the organising and provision of a range of social, educational, and recreational activities for persons aged over 50 living in Derrylin and surrounding rural area providing them with the opportunity to avail of activities that promote social interaction and maintain their
overall health and wellbeing. The group members also collaborate with their members, other local groups, and representative agencies to raise awareness within the community of the needs and experiences of persons aged over 50 in the community and the benefits flowing from this are receiving support from other organisations to hold activities, deliver services and levels of isolation are reduced and welfare of older people is promoted. The benefits of the group activities are evidenced by measurement of numbers attending activities and feedback from participants. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Derrylin First Tuesday Group. The beneficiaries of the group are persons aged over 50 who live in Derrylin and surrounding rural area. The only private benefit flowing from the group purposes are that trustees of Derrylin First Tuesday Group and their families, can participate in all activities and this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all eligible members of the community can potentially avail of these and benefit.
