Direct benefits are - the preservation of Portrush’s heritage - increased public engagement with and enjoyment of Portrush’s heritage The benefits can be demonstrated through - evidenced preservation of Portrush’s physical heritage - the expansion of digital heritage archives - public attendance at meetings and events and via the public’s

feedback - evidenced use of the Portrush heritage trail App - evaluation of our activity through a review of our Strategic Plan There is an identified risk related to the annual Pirates of Portrush and Heritage Fair Events. This risk is assessed and mitigated for within a risk register and the benefits are recognised as outweighing the risk. In all other aspects, this purpose does not lead to harm The beneficiaries are primarily the people who live in, connect with and visit Portrush and the surrounding area, and also those who have an interest in this area’s heritage A private benefit is that gained by Trustees who - engage with the organisation’s activities and events. These Trustees are treated in the same way as any other person engaging with the organisation’s activity. - who may undertake training in order to fulfil their roles and responsibility as Charitable Trustees. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries

What your organisation does

The attached 2025-2027 Strategic Plan will be our blueprint over the next three years to guide efforts towards our vision which is that " People recognise and appreciate the significant history and heritage of Portrush". Our Mission Statement is "Portrush Heritage Group promotes the appreciation of and engagement with the heritage of Portrush

and the surrounding area". As we grow it is important to state our values which are, Working collaboratively: Proactively working with the Community and relevant stakeholders Inclusive: Enabling engagement by all representatives of our Community Integrity & professionalism: Conducting our work to the highest of standards, whilst respecting the natural environment Good governance: Applying sound organisational and operational practice and appropriate use of resources This new plan is based on the 2023 -2025 Strategic Plan which was reviewed by the Committee in November 2024.

Charitable purposes

The charity's objects ('Objects') are specifically restricted to the following: To promote and stimulate an interest and learning in the heritage and character of Portrush and surrounding area. To encourage the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of heritage interest in Portrush and surrounding area. Nothing in the articles will authorise an application of the property of the charity for purposes, which are not charitable in accordance with any statutory provision regarding the meaning of the word "charitable", or the words "charitable purposes" in force in any part of the United Kingdom and/or Republic of Ireland and/or the European Union or elsewhere.
