Public benefits
The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 include 1. Promote the playing, understanding and appreciation of flute band music in its various forms. 2. Provision of high quality tuition and performance opportunities for members through rehearsals, private and public musical engagements and taking part in organised competitions and festivals. The
direct benefits flowing from purpose 2 include 1. Provides social interaction for all members in a safe environment. 2. Fosters good relationships and participation with other cultural and musical organisations within the surrounding area. The benefits from purpose 1 are demonstrated through 1. The general public will have access to high quality musical performances and expand their cultural awareness. This is evidenced through feedback from listeners and audience members collated after performances, recordings and broadcasts. 2. The high standard of musicianship attained by the members, and in particular the accelerated development of novice/young players. This high standard is evidenced through competition and festival success and individual grade achievement. The benefits from purpose 2 are demonstrated through 1. The opportunity for any member of the general public to play music with others on a regular basis within a rural area which lacks facilities for social development and interaction. 2. Provision of a shared space to other organisations within the area to promote cultural and musical traditions. This is evidenced by footfall and hall usage. There is no harm arising from the purposes listed. The charity's beneficiaries are its members, the general public listening and appreciating the music played and the other organisations who use the space maintained by the band. 1. A private benefit flows from purpose 1 in the form of a minimal payment of expenses to a musical director and tutor. This is incidental and necessary for the fulfilment of the purpose. No other private benefits flow from the purposes.
What your organisation does
1. Trains young people and adults through their leisure time so they can develop and improve their musical skills. This is achieved through regular practices, tuition, private and public musical engagements and taking part in contests and festivals. 2. Offers a space where people from all backgrounds and ages come together each week at rehearsals
to provide social interaction in a safe environment and promote positive mental health. 3. The space is used by other organisations within the community, fostering good relationships, encouraging partnership and promoting cultural and arts activities.
