Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: improved knowledge and education that arises from the provision of information which increases understanding of good relations, local history, culture and the background of the Ballygawley and Clogher Valley area and its environs. The group’s activities bring about improved health and

well-being and social outcomes through local provision in the community, and reduced levels of social isolation, stress and anxiety, through the promotion of cross-community social activities to promote participation in arts, education in an open and accessible shared space Community Centre. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries and attendees at our meetings, events, classes, social and cultural activities using: evaluation forms, surveys, verbal feedback, and evaluation of our activities. In providing a local Community Centre and a range of activities for community benefit there is no possibility of harm out weighing the benefit - there is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are primarily 11 – 19 year old children and young people in the Ballygawley and Clogher Valley areas and its surrounding environs within the Dungannon and South Tyrone area of Mid Ulster District Council area. A private benefit to Trustees and trustees’ children may arise from our ongoing events, services and programmes of arts, cultural, educational, leisure, recreational, health, well-being and social activities and good relations programmes. Through this, Trustees gain from these services, events, activities and experiences which are transferable to other settings, and which may benefit their own and other community groups and / or areas. Our Trustees and Trustees’ children receive access to information, events, services and activities in the same way as all other beneficiaries, and are assigned support, information and services in the same ways as all other beneficiaries. These benefits are purely incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

St Ciarans Connected is established to relieve poverty, sickness and the aged to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Ballygawley and Clogher Valley area and its environs in Mid Ulster District. We deliver our objects through provision of a shared space in a Community Centre in Ballygawley which enables the advancement of education, arts,

culture and encourages and increases participation in activities to promote health, well-being, social welfare, recreation and leisure-time activities. This is mainly delivered via meetings, classes, activities and training on a cross community basis for all sections of the community and through events such as Community Christmas Fairs, Community Youth Club, Fun Runs, Walks, Good Relations Workshops and OCN Accreditations.
