Public benefits
The direct benefits are that women can access support to run for political office. Also that the issue of women's representation in politics is made aware off and is on the political agenda. The benefits above will be demonstrated by more women running for election in the region and therefore more women being elected into political seats. More
people will be aware of the issue of women's representation and parties will adopt more gender positive policies. We have already influenced the UUP and they have started an internal campaign to recruit more women into the party and have more women on ballots. There are no harms that we are aware off. Women who are interested in politics and ore generally the general public as more women in politics has shown to be beneficial to the whole society particularly in terms of health and education. No.
What your organisation does
The organisation seeks to increase the number of women politics in Northern Ireland by providing women with the confidence, knowledge and skill needed to stand for election. We will do this through awareness raising efforts including campaigns and by running education workshops for women and school aged girls to equipt women and gils with this
confidence, knowledge and skills.
