Public benefits

Guysmere Trust is established for charitable purposes and aims to provide benefit to all users by making known the Christian Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The direct benefits which flow from the purposes of the Trust are:- • The promotion of the Christian faith and its contemporary application in the private sphere and the public square; • An

improved sense of wellbeing; • Opportunities to enhance the physical and mental health of those using the centre or accessing services from it; • Spiritual, moral and intellectual development for those attending private retreats, group retreats and conferences at Guysmere as they enjoy fellowship with others; • The promotion and education of people about the conservation of the natural environment; • The promotion of reconciliation, inclusion, religious harmony, equality and diversity; • Opportunities for faith development and pastoral support are provided in partnership with local churches, denominations and a range of faith-based organisations. Guysmere seeks to benefit individuals by encouraging responsible citizenship and assisting them to consider and develop a biblical framework for life, whilst offering a context in which the Christian faith can be meaningfully explored and expressed. Public access is made known through the use of noticeboards, printed material, press advertisement, websites, social media and in other ways. The benefits are demonstrated through the regular evaluation of the activities and services provided, and by informal and ad-hoc feedback from individuals, user groups and members of the public. The purpose does not lead to harm. Beneficiaries will include: church groups; youth groups; community groups; groups of persons suffering from physical or mental disability; cross community groups seeking to promote the mutual understanding and respect for one another by persons having diverse ethnic, religious, and political identities. The only private benefit flowing from our purpose is related to staff employed directly by the Trust. There are no other private benefits
