Public benefits
The overall aim of Freedom Mandate, as set out in its mission statement, is to restore the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals who have been exploited or are vulnerable to exploitation through modern day slavery in the Middle East and North Africa region through practical support as well as financial aid and to educate the wider public about this
form of exploitation. The direct public benefits that flow from object (i) are: (a) Enhancing peoples’ lives living in the Middle East North Africa region by providing financial assistance to vulnerable people who are currently in or facing poverty through provision of aid. The public benefits that flow from object (ii) are: (a) Enhancing people’s agency and freedom through the provision of financial aid to allow people to travel home or provide legal assistance where necessary. (b) The creation of a supportive and safe environment for those who have been exploited or face exploitation in the region. (c) Reduction of further exploitation and abuse of victims and prevention of harm to people at risk of being exploited. The public benefits that flow from (iii) are: (a) A raised awareness and knowledge of the wider public in Northern Ireland and other areas about this issue enabling the public to identify and report this form of exploitation. (b) Prevention of exploitation of potential victims and prevention of re-victimisation. Freedom Mandate measures its impact through evaluations and surveys designed to assess the increase of people’s knowledge which will be evaluated after training and information evenings as well as In depth interviews evaluating the social impact on victims or potential victims. There is no harm flowing from any of our purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are Men and Women who have become victims of exploitation and/or human trafficking and people at risk of becoming victims of exploitation and/or human trafficking There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.
What your organisation does
We exist to; PROTECT and SUPPORT individuals who are being exploited and/or are vulnerable to exploitation through modern day slavery and human trafficking and HELP end the cycle of revictimization. PREVENT vulnerable individuals from being exploited in the first instance. EDUCATE and RAISE AWARENESS about human trafficking and modern day slavery.
We intend to preserve and protect the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals who are being exploited and/or are vulnerable to exploitation and help end the cycle of revictimisation by; 1. Facilitating educational classes to equip vulnerable individuals with knowledge about practical matters including finances, emotional wellbeing, human rights, healthcare, law etc. 2. Providing or assisting in the provision of advice and support services for vulnerable individuals. 3. Organising social events for vulnerable individuals to promote self-esteem, a sense of dignity and solidarity. 4. Providing or assisting in the provision of temporary/emergency shelter for individuals who feel that they are in danger. 5. Providing or assisting in the provision of financial aid and/or practical aid. 6. Providing or assisting in the provision of relocation, repatriation and holistic aftercare services ensuring that survivors are restored to safety and stability. We intend to prevent vulnerable individuals from being trafficked or exploited through modern day slavery by; 1. Developing materials and awareness campaigns to inform and educate the public, particularly vulnerable individuals, to be able to understand, identify and reduce the risk of exploitation and human trafficking. 2. Organising social, educational and fundraising events for the public.
