Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from our purposes include: the provision of facilities in Dungannon town to meet needs in terms of social welfare which promotes positive physical and mental health, alleviates distress and provides education, training and signposting to support local communities through: provision of resources, equipment, food and
essential supplies; provision of information, training and networks and signposting to people in need and/or distress which promotes wellbeing and positive physical and mental health for those in need in the area of benefit. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries and attendees at our centre, meetings, events, classes, and activities using: evaluation forms, surveys, Facebook page, verbal feedback, and evaluation of our activities. In providing a local point of social contact and activities for the community benefit there is no possibility of harm out weighing the benefit - there is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are primarily the inhabitants of Dungannon and its surrounding environs within the Dungannon and South Tyrone area of Mid Ulster District Council. A private benefit to Trustees may arise from our ongoing services to the community which can also be accessed by Trustees who are local volunteers. Through this, Trustees gain information, skills, and experience which are transferable to other settings, and which may benefit their own community group or area. Our own Trustees receive information, services and activities in the same way as other beneficiaries, and are assigned support, information and services in the same ways as other beneficiaries. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
The Committee meets every month to run the charity, help raise funds for the Charity. The Committee holds regular meetings to plan services and to provide support and facilities to ease social deprivation and isolation, and to avail of information. The Group works with other similar groups in the local area, the local district and beyond to
network, share information and to meet local needs.
